How long does it take for a tummy tuck scar to begin lightening up?
A tummy tuck usually leaves two scars around the belly button and a second transverse scar which, typically, we can place low enough to hide with clothes.

Scars will phases out during an entire year after surgery. It is important to protect them from direct sunlight. You can provide the protection with clothing or sunscreen is paramount. You can also use a Silicone scar cream or silicone scar pads.
However, it’d be the best option that keeping in touch with your surgeon and consider his/her recommendations the whole healing process.
Recovery period for full Tummy Tuck
The recovery time can vary among individuals and dependent on the extent of your abdominoplasty and your general physical condition.
In many instances, you can resume most of your daily routine, including some mild exercise, after several weeks.
You may not see the final result of your tummy tuck for several months, but your swelling should subside within several weeks.
Swelling after a TT
Depending on the extent of your tummy tuck and how much liposuction you have done at the same time, you may experience common swelling after a tummy tuck. Most patients will have significant swelling in the first two weeks but most of that will resolve after 6 weeks.
On the other hand, the last 10% or so of the swelling will take about 6 months to resolve. Because of that, patients will be able to see the approximate results at 6 weeks post-op.
Shortly, you can expect your swelling to last 3-6 months.
Additionally, If you had liposuction at the same time it may be a bit longer tummy tuck recovery.
Pubic swelling and pain normal after TT?
Pubic swelling and pain in post-operation is an expected phase. Gravity will cause the swelling to settle into the public area and legs, this happens when you are on your feet for long periods of time.
If you notice any fever or blushing, It’d better contact your surgeon. After a couple weeks though, the swelling will be disappeared.
